Not usually the first resorts that jump to mind when you think of Cyprus weddings, Ayia Napa and Protaras are ideal resorts to say’I do’.
Cyprus’ east coast has a reputation for being something of an insomniac. Over the years, the lively town of Ayia Napa has really earned its nightlife stripes, thanks to a neon strip full of bars and nightclubs. But all-night partying is just one chapter in the town’s story. This town has a golden beach, a massive waterpark, and a leafy waterfront promenade, where you can sample every style of cuisine within earshot of the waves. It has plenty for couples and families, and is the perfect destination for weddings.
Famous for its golden sandy beaches, crystal clear water and its relaxed laid back atmosphere, Protaras is the place for those in search of a calm, picturesque wedding location. Protaras, about 15 minutes’ drive from Nissi Beach, and tends to spark a love-at-first-sight reaction for couples.
This place is defined by vine-wrapped tavernas and some of the prettiest coastal spots in the region. Protaras is a purpose-built resort on the south eastern coast of Cyprus. The reason it’s here is the sandy patchwork of beaches that blankets the rugged coastline – which is a real draw in itself for the scenic walks. It’s a fairly compact place, so you’ll find the lively bars and restaurants right on the main street. And when you want to really let your hair down, the clubs and bars of Ayia Napa are just a 10-minute taxi ride away.
